Vendease Has Brought Another One
You might want to check on your friends at Vendease because, whew, things are shaking up over there!
After 2 layoffs in five months, the startup is ditching regular salaries for a performance-based pay system.
Here’s what’s up:
All 150 remaining employees are now on equal salaries.
Last month, everyone reportedly got paid ₦140K, regardless of their previous salary.
Salaries will increase gradually over five phases, tied to performance.
By May 2025, employees could earn 30% of their former salaries (if they hit targets).
From June to August, pay rises to 60% of former salaries, then 90% by November, with the unpaid portion converted to stock options.
WHAAAATTTT? 😳
I’ve heard someone say… if Vendease bounces back, employees could cash out big on the stock options.
But please, how many people can afford to gamble with their salaries in this economy?
